The pictures are nice and this is a failry good book for beginners. However, as a mineral collector I must correct some incorrect information concerning Moqui Marbles aka Shaman Stones and other various names. The author claims that if these stones don't get enough attention, they will turn to dust or disappear entirely . This is simply not true. I have had these stones in my collection for years without paying any more attention to them than I would any other rock or mineral in the collection. I have a very large Moqui Marble that has sat for years on the shelf along side many other minerals without much handling at all and the stone is still in fine shape. Most of the information in the book is okay but if you really want to know how to take care of any rock or mineral, I'd suggest you look into books that a rock and mineral collector would use. Not some metaphysical type book.
